How To Create PayPal Accounts – PayPal India
First, click on the https://www.paypal.com/in/home and create your PayPal accounts.
On the next page, you get to choose between “Personal and Business account”. For bloggers, we would suggest starting with a personal account. In future, if you need a business account, then you can upgrade from the PayPal India dashboard.
By filling out a form on the next page, you can submit your credit/debit card details or skip it to send the payment later.
If you use credit/debit card to send/receive payments then do these following steps.
- Register your PAN card with the account.
- Verify your email. You will get a confirmation email from PayPal after sign-up.
- Add bank account.
- Purpose code indicates the nature of the business for which you are receiving payments into your PayPal accounts. This is required as per Indian regulations.
The name should be same on PAN card and the PayPal India account. If you are a minor, you can open a PayPal accounts on your parent name.
This process can take around 2-3 days; we would suggest you, start now so that you can make money online in future with advertising company or from the client.
Click on Add bank account, after which you will be directed to the following page. Fill in the necessary information.
- Your Name
- Your bank account number
- Your bank’s IFSC code. If you don’t know IFSC check it on the passbook of your bank or just Google it.
Once the bank account has been added, PayPal ++ sends 2 small deposits to your bank account. After payment comes, you log in to the PayPal accounts and click on the verify link and enter the amount to complete verification.
Add PayPal purpose code:
After this, in the next step, you will need to add the purpose code of your account for the transaction. If you receive payment from affiliate commission or advertising, choose “Advertising and market research” or select what you do, which will be your default purpose code.
You can manually withdraw money from the Indian PayPal accounts. If you don’t want to manually withdraw money then it is withdrawn automatically for you every day. It takes around 5-7 days for the money to credit in your account from PayPal.
Linking Credit / Debit card with Indian PayPal accounts:
When you link your credit card to your PayPal accounts, you will not have any issues. You can always add a new account or edit the old account by simply going to Profile > Link/edit credit card.

If you try to add ICICI bank’s Debit card then following error shows up.
“The bank that issued your card didn’t approve this transaction. Please contact the card issuer’s customer service department if you have any questions. Or you can add a different card now to continue.”
For this, you can call on the bank customer care number and enable the international online transaction. You can also SMS “INTL” to 5676766 from your registered mobile number.
Many other banks’ debit card says it does not work as it is not an international card. But it works well on ATMs. Talk to your bank’s customer care if you want to do the online transaction without 3D secure PIN verification.
Alternate Verification methods for PayPal India
Many banks issue credit card while opening a bank account. If you want to improve your online career, then you should have a credit card.
VCC (Virtual Credit Card):
Many banks like HDFC, Kotak issues VCC. You can use it to activate your PayPal ++ account. Ask your banks’ customer care or check the banks’ website for more information whether they issue VCC or not.
